As part of AT&T’s Believe Chicago initiative, more than 70 AT&T employees volunteered at events on Chicago’s south and west sides as part of the City of Chicago’s “Faith and Action: Put The Guns Down” anti-violence events.

Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot attended the west side event in Garfield Park, hugged AT&T Illinois President Eileen Mitchell and publicly recognized AT&T and our employees for our participation in the event.   AT&T employees also supported a south side event in the Englewood neighborhood — near the company’s new retail store.

The “Put The Guns Down” events are organized by the Chicago Police Department and serve as a call for peace in the neighborhoods during the summer months.  Mayor Lightfoot, Chicago Police Department commanders, faith leaders and community organizations all spoke to the need for peace in the neighborhoods.  AT&T provided music, AT&T blue lemonade, and giveaway items to neighborhood residents.
